2023 Employee of the Year Awards and Matthew F. McNulty Award Luncheon
On March 9, 2023, fifty-three employees from area healthcare organizations convened at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. Each employee was presented with a crystal award. Recognition is given to those who made a significant contribution in healthcare in 2022 and is based on three criteria: Sustainability, Quality, and Customer/Patient Satisfaction. The narratives about each recipient were awe-inspiring. Honorees of this special award consisted of physicians, nurses, therapists, patient relations specialists, environmental services employees, pharmacists, human resources specialists, community outreach providers, and more. Each employee is part of a team and every associate makes a difference.
The event culminated with the presentation of the 24th Matthew F. McNulty Award being presented to Dr. Kurt Newman, CEO, Children’s National Hospital. Dr. Newman was chosen for his ability to communicate, organize and lead, and his commitment to excellence and unending dedication to providing excellence in healthcare.
In addition to the presentation of Employee of the Year Awards and McNulty Award, The Healthcare Council’s second Dr. Omega Logan Silva Scholarship recipient, Courtney Nelson, was provided with a $5,000 scholarship check at the Awards Luncheon.
